How the Pediatric Flowmeter Works
This flowmeter does not generate oxygen. It connects to a compatible stationary oxygen concentrator and allows the supplied oxygen to be adjusted to much lower flow settings.
The supplying concentrator is set to 2 LPM, and the pediatric flowmeter is then used to adjust the output between 0 and ¾ LPM according to the prescribed setting.
Oxygen Concentrator Compatibility
The flowmeter requires an oxygen source capable of supplying the specified 2 LPM input at 5 ± 0.5 PSI.
Rhythm Healthcare identifies its LM5BA 5L stationary concentrator as one compatible example. Other equipment should be checked against the flowmeter's technical requirements before use.
